By definition teachers, teach, they impart wisdom and knowledge. But there are a few that do far more than that. There are some that will go above and beyond their call of duty. I’ve had the fortune of meeting a couple of great teachers. The thing is they are paid to teach, but some go about forming the foundations of your entire being, sometimes that’s unintentional but it happens as a byproduct of their passion for teaching. The things they teach, unintentionally or not can stay with you for an entirely life time. They can mould you into the shoes you will come to fill. They will influence you beyond the level that is skin deep. What they teach will penetrate deep within.

The fact is, that this blog would not exist if it had not been for my old English teacher. He taught me that writing can be a powerful emotive tool. He encouraged me to keep a journal and as a result I fell in love with words. He taught me that how one articulates oneself is by far the greatest weapon to have in ones arsenal, because words, speech and writing personify feelings and emotions. They draw them out from within and let you speak them in your own voice. He may have just been teaching, but it was a beautiful gift. One I cherish beyond all else. Simply because when I have nothing else, when I am bare, I will always have words, be they in the form of words, trough speech or in writing. They will always be mine.
