It bemuses me the that the United States can pass bills that the vast majority of it’s populous disagree with, to satisfy the desires of a few bourgeois elites, yet it calls itself a democracy and pushes its ‘democratic’ principles down the throats of the ‘uncivilised’ world. What SOPA and PIPA seek to protect, and the means by which they want to protect those assets, goes far beyond what the United States has condemned the likes of Iran and China doing in regards to censoring the internet. Marx said that one day the proletariat would come to realise the democracy they believe they live in is not democracy at all. I can see that day coming. Can’t you?
That said, people are fucking overreacting aren’t they? Try to educate yourself before you devote yourself to a cause you do not truly understand. Those videos and posters that seemingly explain in layman’s terms, go a long way exaggerate the truth and make speculations. Because hey, at the end of the day everyone has an agenda, and some purely wish to insight fear to rally support.
